Grandma Brown 2014 by LucasAckerman Grandma Brown 2014 by LucasAckerman
6-17-2014. My grandma passed away on Monday the 16th at 3:30pm. Sketched this from a photo from when she was younger. She was going through a lot of pain, and I'm just glad that pain is over. She encouraged my art. One of my fondest memories of her is her and I sitting on the couch, and she was describing a character to me while I was drawing it. I love you, grandma!

I know what it's like to lose someone you love; my grandma passed away last year, but sadly I never really knew her before Alzheimer's took over. I hope that you had a very good relationship with your grandmother and I'm very sorry for your loss. As many others have said: just hold on to those good memories, and don't dwell on the past or regrets you might have.
You're artwork is truly wonderful, and I'm sure if your grandma saw it she would be very proud.

My friend... I feel your pain. My grandmother passed in December, and my grandfather followed shortly thereafter in late February.

But George is right. Remember them fondly. Remember them as they were, at their best, remember the good... And cherish those memories.

As long as we have that... they remain immortal in our hearts.

Hang in there, bro.

And if you ever need to talk, shoot me an email or a note.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Lucas. The very best thing we can do for those we've loved and lost is to remember them fondly. This is a wonderful tribute.

Wow, this is beautiful, not only because of the talent behind the drawing, but also because I am in a very similar place as you. My grandmother is just holding on to life after multiple heart attacks, and despite all the grief at the prospect of losing her, she loves it when we visit and she can describe a fantastic scene out of her mind to my husband, and he'll draw it as she speaks. I am so sorry for your loss, and want to let you know that your portrait of her conveys all of her beauty, life, and kindness. Never lose those memories of her.
